Your data stays on your device.
Screenshot Redactor was built with one principle: nothing about your images should ever leave your phone. All processing — face detection, text recognition, barcode scanning — runs entirely on-device using Android's on-device ML APIs.
Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your images or personal data. Ever.
The app does not require an account, login, or any personal information to function. Images you select are processed locally in memory and are never written to any external server or third-party service.
Permissions Used
INTERNET
Required by the Google AdMob advertising SDK to load and display banner ads. No image data is sent over this connection.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Required by AdMob to check network availability before requesting an ad. No user data is transmitted.
The app does not request camera access, microphone access, contacts, location, or background access of any kind.
On-Device Machine Learning
All AI features are powered by Google ML Kit running locally on your device:
- Face detection — processes image pixels locally, no biometric data is stored
- Text recognition (OCR) — extracts text locally to find emails, phones, IBANs, card numbers
- Barcode / QR scanning — decodes locally, no scan history is kept
ML Kit's on-device models do not send data to Google. See ML Kit Terms of Service.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Screenshot Redactor is free and supported by banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use the following data to serve relevant ads:

You can opt out of personalised ads at any time in your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalisation (older Android).

Children's Privacy
Screenshot Redactor is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no social features, accounts, or user-generated content.
Data Retention
We retain no data. Images processed by the app exist only in your device's memory during the session and are cleared when you leave the app. Saved redacted images are written to your device's local gallery (Pictures/Redacted/) and are under your full control.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date below and publish the updated policy at this URL. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
